On November 28, in Kiev, a presentation of the new project “Wine Guide of Ukraine”, implemented by the Reikartz Hotel Group hotel chain, will be held.
This is the first non-profit project that aims to develop and popularize Ukrainian winemaking. His task is not only to tell that there is good wine in Ukraine, but also to introduce the inhabitants of the country to it.
The solemn event will be held within the framework of the «V National Wine Forum 2019». This is a modern platform for winemakers, which provides an opportunity to discuss current problems in the field of viticulture and winemaking and ways to solve them.
The combination of these two major events is accompanied by the common goal of promoting and developing Ukrainian winemaking, promoting Ukrainian wine on the domestic and foreign markets, enhancing the culture of consumption of Ukrainian wine and raising the prestige of the wine-making profession.
The presentation will feature the first print edition of the Wine Guide of Ukraine 2019. The book includes descriptions of 48 wineries and 183 positions of the best Ukrainian wines. In a blind tasting format, members of the Sommelier Association of Ukraine rated wines on a 100-point scale, with a range of 80-84 points (bronze), 85-89 points (silver), 90-100 points (gold). Following the results of the tasting, certain positions are assigned to which appropriate medals are assigned. The awards will be reflected in the book “Wine Guide of Ukraine 2019”. The commission was also attended by: the head of Ukrsadvinprom Vladimir Pechko, vice president of the All-Ukrainian Association of Horticulture and Viticulture Producers Oleg Kirnitsky and wine blogger and writer Leonid Lipovetsky.
“The Wine Guide has incorporated the entire wine culture of modern Ukraine. When we started working on the project, we came to the conclusion that little is known about Ukrainian winemakers. In the book we talked about the history of each winery, about the best Ukrainian wines and gave them a detailed description. The publication of the Wine Guide of Ukraine publication is planned on an annual basis,” comments project manager Dmitry Semkiv.
Presentation of the project “Wine Guide of Ukraine” consists of a solemn award of wineries and a circular wine tasting presented on the pages of the guide. The event will take place on November 28 within the framework of the "V of the National Wine Forum 2019" at st. Great Zhytomyr, 33.
